Works great! This is my first cast net, and everyone I talked to said you cannot beat the value of a Betts Old Salt. It takes some practice, but eventually you’ll get the hang of it. It helps if you have a friend that is quite good at throwing one. If not, there are plenty of YouTube videos that explain the basics.
I'm a newbie so after watching a few videos and trying it out, I was able to catch at least a hundred peanut bunker from a pier. It's really fun seeing tbh em get caught and swim up towards the surface as the net sinks. The net is really durable so far, I've only used it about 5 times this past season. I would say that you should definitely give it a good wash after use to prevent salt residue and bad smells
Easy to use. We will get the larger size later on as we get more practice.
This is a great product. I bought it for my husband who has been very successful using it for catching bait fish from our dock. I would recommend it to any first time user
I'm still learning how to use this cast net. It seems to be very high quality, the few times I have tried it out, it worked just like it's supposed to. I plan to learn how to use this more effectively
Love it. It was just what I was looking for. I bought another net and it was torn when I opened it. I've owned several nets and this is the size that is best for casting off a pier for bait fish. not so crazy big you can handle so I would say good for beginners. Don't need to be a pro but should have some experience before buying a net this size. Weights are on the smaller side but there are so many of them it actually feels heavier than my old net that had larger weights. The rope at the bottom that forms the huge circle is white nylon type rope rather than the plastic black weave rope that comes undone and frays so easily. The black type has been on every type of net I have owned so I am interested on how this will work.
The rope is very very very very very very very very very long. Did I mention the rope is long?
Not a bad net, it's impossible to get back in the original box, but I haven't horribly tangled it and have caught plenty of bait with it. Definitely watch some youtube videos and don't let your wife record you practicing with it, but it works.
